Healing in Harmony with Nature

I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, near the hills and rivers of the Cascade Mountains. I spent my later teenage years studying art and trying to represent the beauty of nature to a blank canvas. It was during this study of nature that I became drawn to plants and herbal medicine. I found the intricate and powerful healing force of nature in plants, and how they interact with human beings.

It was this love of herbal medicine that drew me to Bastyr University. I entered the naturopathic medicine program with the intent on specializing in herbal medicine and women’s health. I started the classes but found that acupuncture seemed to draw me in a very deep way- the introduction to Traditional Chinese Medicine class. I found the way the Chinese thought about nature and the human body to be a very much like the metaphor of nature I was trying to represent with my artwork.

Eventually I received both a doctor of Naturopathic medicine (ND), and a Master’s of Science in Acupuncture (MSA) from Bastyr. I have had a private practice in Omaha, Nebraska, and I regularly volunteered at the local AIDS clinic. I has also lived overseas in New Zealand, where she was a consultant for the health products industry and head of the naturopathy department at one of New Zealand's naturopathy programs.  I focuses women’s health and the treatment of chronic disease, using naturopathic  medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Personally, I have a strong interest in gardening, cooking whole foods, yoga and art, and has a strong goal of helping people achieve wellness. Visits with me focus on listening to you, a gentle and through examination and treatment, and encouraging you to be a part of your own wellness plan. I truly believes in medicine that supports the whole person.
